HOW THE THEORY TEST WORKS.

Your theory test will be in two parts, you must pass both parts of the test to gain an overall pass.

PART ONE, MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS. This is 50 random questions from the D.S.A bank of questions of which there is around 1000 questions, the pass mark required is 43 correct answers out of the 50. There are many discs available to help you with your revision some are better than others but nearly all now contain the questions and hazard perception. We also recommend reading the Highway Code as this is the best resource possible for your revision and any question asked on your test the answer can be found in the Highway code.

PART TWO, HAZARD PERCEPTION. The Hazard Perception test comprises of 14 short video clips of which there is a developing hazard in each however one of the clips will contain two hazards making a total of fifteen hazards. All you have to do is click the mouse button as soon as you see the hazard developing, a developing hazard is a hazard that may cause you to change your speed or direction. The sooner you see the hazard the more points you score the maximum points for each hazard is 5 points making a total of 75 points, to pass you must score a minimum of 44 points.

Once you have passed your theory you will be given your certificate this will contain your unique number which is required to book your practical test.
